Reliable and easy to use with a thoughtful design
No more hassle with flat batteries – this has been incredibly useful for me. I’ve used it on my car and my wife’s motorbike, and it manages both effortlessly. The 9-stage charging process is well thought-out, particularly the repair mode, which revived an old, sluggish battery. The LCD screen is clear and easy to read, providing accurate information without any confusion. Switching between charging my son’s scooter battery and the lawnmower was simple, thanks to the straightforward button interface. It’s constructed with safety in mind, which is reassuring, especially since it automatically cuts off to prevent overcharging. The winter and summer modes are thoughtfully designed, and it performed perfectly even on a chilly Manchester morning. One minor issue: the included lead feels slightly fragile. Still, it’s dependable and makes tasks much easier.

Good value, but exaggerated amps
I'm an 18th edition marine electrician, so I & fit big high quality (£500-£2,000) chargers all day long.Is this the best charger I've seen? Not by a long shot. However, for £40(ish) it's good value. It "only" auto-detects the voltage range (12v or 24v) of the battery, and the user (you) choose from low, medium, high amps, or "repair" (probably a desulphation pulsed, or low amp "equalisation" ) charge. The quality isn't amazing, and I doubt you'll pass it down to your grand kids. It is almost certainly not a "lifetime" tool. But... for most domestic users, who'll use it once or twice every year or 2, it should do just fine.My only criticism is, the exaggerated ampage claims (a pet hate on Chinese-ium devices). When tested on an 24v lifepo4 battery pack, the unit said "10amps", while the (very accurate) battery monitor was closer to 7-8amps (on a cursory glance) .The claimed Watts are likely fairly close to the 240watts (a lead-acid, or lfp battery's charge voltage is generally 14.4-14.8v@12v "nominal"/28.8v-29.6v@24v). So, 28.8v x 8amps = 230watts. Pretty good for a VERY cheap charger (rated@240watts.)Would I "fit and forget" on a client boat, or camper - nope, no chance Itndefinately isn't a "cintant duty cycle" unit. Would I keep it in my garage for a "rainy day" battery, yes.Victron, master volt, sterling (or even epever, or renogy) it ein't. Cheap it is.For a much better quality (Chinese) unit, look to epever, or renogy. For £40, this is still very good value, and will sort your flat battery's (even if it does exaggerate).

Great charger for the price - with a cooling fan!
The media could not be loaded. Great charger for the price. It’s easy to use and a fairly decent charging speed and offers a multistage repair function. Useful for when you have a battery that appears to be dead.I purchased this to keep my classic cars battery topped up. Those old lead acid batteries aren’t as good as the new stop/start or lithium batteries so need a trickle charger when the vehicle isn’t in regular use. This seems to work well! It shows fully charged when the battery is full and then obviously maintains the charge level.I also tested it as a regular charger, and it charged a flat battery to full in a few hours. Some people have complained about the noise level, but I honestly didn’t think it was noisy - besides the fact that you wouldn’t be sleeping or living in the same room where you would be using the charger, I don’t see it as a problem. Besides the fan keeps the charger cool so its not a bad thing.I love the fact it has a long connector cable that goes from the charger to the battery. The mains cable is also a decent length which means I don’t have to but the car right up against my charging socket.Crocodile clips are well built and have a strong bite.

A bad charger
This is awful, the battery connection leads from the charger are hopeless, they are too loose, not a positive connection, you couldn’t have confidence in leaving a battery on charge overnight.

Decent
This car battery charger is easy to use and does the job, but I’ve found other models that are faster and more effective. It works OK for general use, but if speed and efficiency are a priority, there might be better options out there.Overall, it’s a decent product, just not quite up to the standard of some alternatives.
