The seed grows fast and grows well… but what in the world were you thinking sending it in just a plastic sheet taped in the middle. I lost a good 2lbs of seed just in shipping and another pound on my garage floor when I took it out of the box. If you buy this product make sure to have a big container to store it in. Only complaint is the packaging of the product.

I bought one bag of this to test in some areas of my yard where nothing the fescue will not grow from basically July until spring. It took less than two weeks to start sprouting and filling in! I did little to even get the ground ready, just some quick raking to break the hardened top layer (it's been abnormally dry here in late summer/early fall). Then watered it lightly to moderately every other day.I will buy several bags of this next fall to cover the entire yard and not have a giant mudpit for my dogs.

This grain rye seed started sprouting within days. Shipping was very fast.I use this for my garden cover crop, it can take the coldest and wettest weather without dying out.Edit: I bought from this seller again this year. The seed has been down for about 2 weeks.It looks like a near 100% germination rate. Some of the seed started right away, some took an extra week to start, probably due to the really dry weather we'd had and my uneven watering. It looks like all seed is sprouted or at least has roots starting. I don't need to spread it very thick or press it into the soil.Yes, it's really good seed for my garden winter covercrop.IF YOU ARE THINKING THIS IS FOR A LAWN, YOU NEED TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE... LOL

I've had a no till garden, 5'000 sq. ft, for six years. Recently ckeaned and prepped for winter..including spreading the rye.Two werks later germination is sparse at best. Haven't had this issue before.Wonder what's wrong with it. Dated?
