I have purchased about 5 of these combos from different manufacturers so far, along with "spill proof" bowls etc. They may be great for dogs but my pig is able to make a mess of about anything. Many of the bowl mat combos are probably fine when you're using them for a dog Etc but with pigs they go from water to food and Back Again multiple times and as insinuated they don't chew with their mouth closed so food goes everywhere. My pig is half the time inside and half the time outside so depending on where he eats it's going to be a pretty big issue. I use a mat regardless just so he's able to retrieve any food he drops easier. This particular mat has a wider brim than most of the others and though it may only be a enter so that's significant and catching additional food or water Etc. It has greatly reduced the amount of water and food and cleaning up off my kitchen floor. This is by far the best mat / bowl combo I have purchased so farThe good1. Decent price2. We love this bowl! It's so easy to clean and our American Akita was often moving her food bowl around the place and sometimes would take her bowl into the other room to eat. This bowl eliminated that problem completely. The bowls sit tightly in the silicone matt. They are large bowls which are perfect for large and extra large breeds. I love how it's not raised (since that leads to bloat in deep cheasted dogs). It's sturdy, though my dog doesn't try to chew any part of it but we have had it over 6 months and the only signs of wear are the scratches on the bottom of the stainless bowls. I'm not sure what that means but they are still easy to clean and work all the same. Really happy with this purchase!

Love the bowl but my dog probably hates it. Usually when he's thirsty he'll flip his water bowl over. He can't flip this one (he's 70 pounds by the way). This bowl is large and once I fill it I'm making far fewer trips to refill. My only problem is you really have to be careful filling the bowl. If you do it too fast or from too high of a distance the water spills out onto the plastic. I know the plastic is there just to catch spills but filling the bowl causes more spills than the dog normally causes. Other than that, a good product.

I have a lab who loves water and will splash his water all over the place. If you're looking to get this to keep floors from being messed up just be aware if your dog splashes that water can, and will, pool underneath. Other than that its a great product and keeps the food and water bowls in place perfectly

I believe this mat/bowls combo works exactly as needed. I feed my dog inside and it works fine. In my opinion anyone using this product outside or in a kennel is asking for problems as any bored dog is going to use it as a chew toy, also the bowls are not large enough to hold a days worth of water outside (no fault of the product) especially in hot weather. I keep a large secured bucket of water outside for my pooch so there is no chance of running out of water. Common sense goes a long way with pet care.

The bowls included are a great size for a large dog. They are easy to get out of and put into the base and cleaning the base is an easy task - a quick wipe up with a wet paper towel and it's good to go. Deeper cleanings are very easy as the base is rubber-like and scrubbing and spraying with a hose is quick and easy, too. We've had no issues with tipping.

This is the best dog bowl set up I've had - the black mat keeps the bowls in place and catches lots of dribbles. Bye-bye to bowls sliding all over the floor and making a mess and lots of noise! We are using this with our puppy, and it will grow with him til he's full sized. Keeps feeding him neat and easy. Plus, bowl are easy to pull out for cleaning and filling, but stay put when he's eating and drinking. I definitely recommend this one!

Received the the 2 super shiny dog bowls along with the black rubber mat that hold the bowls in place. From the photos I thought this was a hard molded plastic with a non-slip bottom surface, but after receiving it today i was mistaken. This material seems durable and kinda feels and looks like the same as the flexible rubber like oven safe baking sheets. I will update to see if this last and we may end up putting one of these outside to see how they hold up to the extreme temperatures (Cold/Heat).
