1st time using caraway thanks to Tom Kerridge using it in low cal "lasagne". Very tasty, ideal for winter
I am in my early 60's and have never had caraway in my cupboard! I am using it in a "low fat" lasagne (courgette instead of pasta, and the mince is baked in the oven so gets a great taste), by Tom Kerridge, and he made it on TV, it looked so good I knew I had to make it. The seeds have an aromatic flavour, something similar to cumin, and I really like what it does to the mince, try it! They were posted promptly and decanted by me to a glass jar

A true blast from the past!
Great! Great! Great ... and Great again! I bought this small pack of Caraway Seeds just to make an old-fashioned Seed Cake like my Granny used to make about 60 years ago. The seeds were perfect and though I am not so sure that my Seed Cake turned out as good as my Granny's used to be it certainly turned out very well and was greatly enjoyed with a nice cup of tea from the Tea Makers of London.

Lovely spice
Great spice for using with bread making. Comes in a sachet which is more than a usual spice jar.

Taste is memory
What's the point of these seeds? Well it's a generation thing. My mother used to make seed cakes with them when I was a child , take a Genoa cake mix and add level tsp and you get this odd aniseedy (but not quite) taste - an echo of the experience of the Madeline in La Recherche ....
