This kept my son dry travelling to school and back in the recent extreme wet weather. I had brought him a medium, but had to go up one size. He's the average 16yr old size it that's any help. Returning the small one was easy, as was the refund process. Super fast delivery too. Ordered it in the morning, arrived in the evening.

Thought I'd write this as it might be beneficial to others. I am 5ft 9, weigh 76kg and the large size fits well. What'll I'll say about this jacket is, that thus far, as it is autumn, this jacket has provided warmt with me just wearing a t-shirt underneath, I suspect I'll benefit more with wearing a jumper when the temperatures drop. This is waterproof.Negatives:1) I'd have liked to have seen a hook on the jacket so that I can hang it up by that hook rather than by the hood.2). The smaller outside pockets really only hold your hands, whereas the other outer pockets are quite deep and will take your hands, keys and a few other bits in them.3) A tooth on the zip came off on the first use. However, I can still do the jacket up without it snagging and because of that, I chose not to send the jacket back. The zip is a left handed zip, not a problem though.4) Whilst I have said this large size fits me well, I'd have prefered if the jacket was slightly longer in it's length by say 2-3 inches. Not a big problem, just my preference.

I bought this jacket as it was advertised as being suitable for skiing and having a thermal layer, so I thought it would be suitable for cold winter weather. It is weatherproof and windproof (thanks to elasticated sleeve ends and the ability to tighten the waist for a snug fit). However, the jacket is lightweight and has a very thin thermal layer and is not suitable for very cold weather (i.e. below freezing). It would be more useful for Spring or Autumn, but I could have bought that level of warmth elsewhere for 40% less. Not impressed.
