I was really impressed with the quality of this kit. All you need to survive a post apocalyptic world is here. I was impressed by the tactical pen, as per instructions "it must be used for self defense", therefore I can render a potential attacker senseless by poking at him with the sharp end. The fire stick sent sparks everywhere and caught my oxygen tank on fire on the first try. The signal mirror was amazing but blinded the rescue pilot, so I had to wait for a second helicopter rescue. The tourniquet was exceptional, although it couldn’t stop a jugular vein hemorrhage. I used the multi-function pliers as a hemostat to take care of that. The kettle hanging buckle was not able to hold the kettle, but it worked great with a water bottle. The tool card had the SOS markings in the now defunct Morse code just in case you get trapped inside a nuclear submarine. The flashlight did not include batteries, but once installed It sent an intense beam of photons at 183,000 miles/ second, now that’s a fast flashlight!

Purchased for pre-teen son.1. military knife- it is sharp as stated! It is serrated. 8inch knife with 3 1/2inch blade.2. fire stick set- son was able to light a fire once he realized the black layer needed to be worn off by the scraper (10-15 scrapes). As a chick who loves knives and multitools, both are awesome. The multitool has a ruler on it which I find unusual compared to my other multitools. Plus it has the typical stuff other tools have. Looks pretty too. The knife is simply gorgeous and has an assisted release which is great for us ladies Flashlight is sturdy. Tactical pen is the same you can buy individually for about $6. The Paracord bracelet has a serrated edge, tiny compass, working whistle. Again, it's the same you can buy individually. Signal mirror is similar to others I own. Whistle is very LOUD! YAY! I Love that the flint fire starter comes with a ruler and bottle opener on the striker. The case is very sturdy and closes up tightly. I LOVE the case.I saw other reviews about the tight fit, but I plan to remove some of the items to other kits or hang on my back pack. Also, you can remove the foam if you aren't worried about nicks. If you are, you'd want that tight fit anyway. I do wish it had a sturdy compass, but most kits do not come with a surdy multitool. It's a great tradeoff in my book and the reason I chose this kit.All in all, a great kit for the price.

This kit is great. The amount you get, plus the quality of the items included, and the box itself? Totally worth the price. I was a little worried it would be cheesy stuff that would probably break when I started messing with it, but I was wrong. Every item is durable, the knife itself would be worth the price of the entire kit. I would recommend buying this to anyone. I bought it to keep in my car just in case, because I travel a lot and sometimes find myself deep in some old country back roads. I'm glad I decided to just buy it after going back and forth for months about it.

MacGyver not needed. This kit has it all. The Muil-tool has a spring so makes life easy keeping the muit-tool open for easy use. The military knife is a nice weight with a quick open switch and has a clip for easy carrying/access. It also comes with a compass wrist band that when taken off has a small fire stick and striker for fires, as well as a larger fire stick. The Tactical pen that is a pen but is heavy duty and can be used for many uses. The mini flashlight is LED so is bright and can be focused or zoomed out for more area light. In a nutshell this kit has everything and the kitchen sink. Makes a great gift. Great stocking stuffer for Christmas. Or part of an emergency kit for the car.

Great little bug out kit. pieces will get you through a tough spot until you can get more permanent help great to have in a glove box or draw or at the bottom of your backpack. I tested several of the pieces and they held up very well. Sure there's more expensive kits you can get which if you were giving them heavy use over the course of many months would last better but unless you're trying to be a wild man of the Appalachians you're going to be fine. One thing of note that this is not something which is easy (emergency survival) so if want an easy way to start a fire or an easy to use saw this may not be the kit for you.

A decent quality survival kit for a reasonable price! You get an impressive array of gear that would be suitable for camping, off-road emergencies, and some everyday use items. Perfect for a Christmas or birthday gift for the outdoorsy person. The tools in this kit aren't on par with the likes of Leatherman, SOG, or Gerber as far as the multi-tool and folding knife go, but they get the job done for what you pay for the overall package. I particularly like the durable case and camo bag that come with the item for keeping the tools dry and storing them in the car.
