Great product and service
My daughter was gifted a rabbit. We had the traditional waterer with the ball at the end and that thing was so loud. So, I found this! It’s amazing, easy to use, and quiet. However, her rabbit (as I’m sure with almost all) loves to chew. He chewed the plastic portion of the elbow. It started leaking and I was having to clean out the cage every day (he has a “litter box” too so it’s normally very clean and we clean it out once a week). I reached out to the company with this situation and wondered if I could just get a new elbow and tray attachment. They were very thorough, and advised of another option they offer that would potentially be a better fit. We are getting the brass nozzle attachment and looking forward to it working out! Very happy with the speedy responses and willingness to help.

Perfect for my ferret
I got a ferret about 1 week ago, and bought the typical water bottle that small animals come with. I noticed the first 24 hours that he looked more like he was attacking the water spout than actually drinking from it. By the end of that time period I could clearly see he had only managed drops of water and was probably extremely thirsty so I placed a water bowl in his cage. He drank easily from that but started splashing the water everywhere due to size of the bowl, which you can't have too small because he needs access to water at all times. I searched online for a solution of having a small bowl that could refill itself, and came across this rentacoop drinking bottle. It was just what I was looking for so I ordered it right away. The bottle was very easy to install. I filled it once it was locked in place on the side of my ferret's cage. The small bowl filled about 1/4 to 1/3 full and stopped. My ferret was able to drink out of it easily, and it always refills just as it should. No more splashing around. My ferret is happy, I am happy, and if you order this water bottle for your pet I bet you and your pet will be happy as well.

Only Good in Theory
I purchased two of these for use with my rabbits. I love being able to refill them without taking the entire thing out of their pen. They were easy for my rabbits to drink out of and were big enough for them to put their mouths in. However, after using them for a few months I have determined that they are still not the best option in my case. My larger rabbit, while sipping her water, would push slightly on the bottle and this broke the entire thing. Her water bottle never stopped leaking. The other one did not break the same way yet still dripped quite a bit. When washing them and taking each piece apart I felt like I couldn't get the small parts properly cleaned which probably didn't help the leaking situation. As someone who has experience raising chickens I might be more inclined to recommend this for chicks in a baby coop because they won't be able to push on the bowl as much as a rabbit. However, any small mammal would probably struggle similarly. I will have to try something else.

How to fix the leaks
When I first got this for my ferret he loved it. It works way better than the typical water bottles you usually find at the pet store. Wayne used to have so much trouble getting water from those so when we switched him to this, he absolutely loved it. When we got a second ferret we bought another one, but it leaked as soon as we set it up. They then sent a replacement for free but that one leaked as soon as we set it up as well. I didn’t want to give up on this product because the ferrets really love it. So I looked around some more and I found “RentACoop Automatic Chicken Water Cup Waterer Kit for Poultry” this comes in a pack of two so it was perfect. It’s made by the same company and it’s compatible for this water bottle. It hasn’t leaked since I bought it and it fills up half way which is great. It doesn’t spill even if the ferrets run or jump around in their cage. I will say setting it up was easy but having to remove it (while there was water still in it) was really annoying. There’s no easy way to get the water out without making a mess. But besides that I love the product! It keeps my ferrets happy and hydrated! :)

Leaked badly
So this is a so this is a great but it does not work for guinea pigs. I love this company and I buy a lot of their stuff for my chickens so when I saw they had this for small animals I thought it would be the perfect answer to water bottles that were always leaking and needed to be removed from the cage completely to be filled everyday. Unfortunately this cup filled to the very tip top which meant when the guinea pigs went to use it they innovatively tipped it down and it spilled out. Within a half a day they had emptied the bottle all over their cage. I tried various different options to keep it straight thinking that leaking was because it would tilt one way or the other because it was very difficult to keep it directly upright and not leaning to slightly to one side or the other but it ends up just being the fact that every time they drink from it spilled. I read through the comments and saw that somebody else had better luck with the chicken cups which fit this bottle. I ordered the two pack Metal Chicken cups from rent a coop. They only fill up halfway and are very deep. They also have a clip on the Cup itself to keep it straight on the cage. It fit the bottle perfectly although I had to screw it through the cage bars which means it's permanently attached and I'll have to unscrew it completely to deep clean the bottle. It's only been installed a few minutes but it already has been used by both guinea pigs. One thing they seem to like is that they can use it at the same time because of how big the cup is. I can already tell that it's not leaking like the other one was.... all in all I think this is a great hack if you already bought this bottle for small animals. But if you haven't save yourself the trouble and go by the one made for chickens with the deeper rounder cup. One thing I am concerned about is that there are a lot of plastic parts inside their cage which with gnawing animals can be a temptation. I will have to see how it lasts long-term. I will say my guinea pigs seem to really enjoy drinking out of a basin instead of from a nipple bottle. In fact when we had both up and they would preferentially go to the Basin as soon as it was refilled rather than drink from the nipple bottle

Second purchase, nothing else comes close
Second purchase. My rabbits dirtied their feeding dishes and caused the water to turn bad. This solves the issue and water is kept clean and I only refill every other day. Proper installation is important to prevent leaking.

work as described
I read some reviews about it leaks, so I am careful when installing it, make sure it was not over tightened and align the washer/seal properly. To prevent the rabbit chewing the plastic part, I made a wire guard around the red plastic. Make sure that the bottle is upright and secure also help. One time the rabbit push a toy under the tray and all the water drain out overnight, so watch for that.I bought two bottles, both rabbit learn to drink from them without issue. Only minor potential issue I can think of is how to clean the metal tray in future without taking the whole thing apart.
