THEY'RE GOOD BUT THIS BRAND'S BEEN CAPABLE OF DOING BETTER
DEKIRU used to sell this exact same product in the color red and let me tell you. The red ones were actually WAY BETTER than these new charcoal/black bass traps. NO, I am not saying that because my preferred color is red. I am referring to the actual build quality. I was stuck after I could only buy 1 set of the red for my room and now I had to finish the rest in the black so my room looks a bit offset but the quality is DEFINITELY different. The red bass traps were a bit more thicker than these new ones you are looking at. In addition, the red ones ALSO went back to the original size as advertised, 12" x 7" x 7", even after receiving them in the same "VACCCUM SEALED" package. It made me wonder what else DEKIRU changed about their product besides the color difference, even though both colors do look amazing once they're in your hands. :)This is NOT intended to influence your decision because the red bass traps are no longer being available for me. However, I do think that every customer would agree that even if "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR." The quality should definitely be a priority. I have tried multiple ways of getting the black bass traps to their original shape but they still vary in shape. When I say they vary in shape, I have realized that if YOU are buying these for the first time, make sure you buy the entire amount you think you may need. Otherwise it will be like buying a shirt from a wholesaler today and one a week later only to find out that one is a lighter shade than the other but if we compare that to these traps. It is more about the size of the cut outs you have to worry about since I haven't had a bass trap that was ever a shade lighter. On my provided pictures you may be able to tell there are gaps or some may be poking out a little more than others. I have ensured that they are flush with the corners so that is exactly how they would look on someone else's wall too.I think that these bass traps could be handled a little more better like DEKIRU did when they sold the red bass traps. This is coming from a returning customer who has purchased these bass traps more than once to finish the room without making the studio look weird by having different mismatching brands on the walls.***These new bass traps require a little more care to details and will trigger OCD if you are a perfectionist.***I will gladly answer other questions as well like:- "Do they look exactly as advertised?" - YES- "Do they perform as good as described?" - For what I'm doing, YES. However, it depends on what purpose these bass traps may serve for you.- "How noticeable is the size difference between each individual bass trap?" - It depends but the maximum is about 1 inch.- "Are they better than other brands and are they worth the purchase?" - YES and NO. It depends on the project you are working on.- "Do they completely deaden the noise in the room?" - NO, but they do assist with reducing noise (i.e., reverb or anything alike).

I love them, exactly what my office needed!
So to start, I love these tiles! I bought 4 boxes of them so far and I can’t seem to get enough. They look amazing, they work amazing and I think I’m addicted to them, I want to hang them everywhere. So the sound? They took the echo out of my office, that’s what I needed! Are they going to be a complete recording studio solution? I think they could however I don’t think that’s what they were designed for! Not saying they aren’t amazing, just that this company makes whatever you need for every application! You want studio foam, they have it....you want to take the echo out of a living room or office, they have them. So my final thoughts, they did exactly what I needed them to do, they look outstanding, they’re super easy to install, they are not 12”x12” so don’t build a room around them!! They are 11-3/4” square. However they are consistent so it’s not like ones going to be longer then the other...they are all exactly the same. They are not cheap so make sure you buy what you need and for the right application! The quality is outstanding, if you use the regular double sided sticky tape you can take them down and move them without destroying them.....yes I’ve moved them! Super easy! They’re great, I highly recommend! Hope that helps, if you have questions feel free to message me!

One adhesive was messed up
One panel had messed up adhesive, I peeled it off and I guess it just stuck to that peel off material, I threw it away because it was sticking everywhere and stuck to itself. Unfortunately I had one left over which is a huge let down so it's like I ordered 11.The panels are really well made for artsy gaming style designs, that's the only purpose I bought it for, I don't care if it cancels out noise or not, honestly guys just buy a white noise machine if outside noise is bothering you, you'd get used to the white noise eventually I promise. The note even says that it's not meant for keeping noise out, unfortunately there's nothing that can do that, even the best noise proofing sound room foam has trouble keeping outside noise away. The only thing that you can do is muffle the sound with a white noise device and even then it only muffles 65% of the ambient noise, if you live in a very noisy environment, they won't hear what you're doing in your room but it'll sound like someone outside is speaking quiet annoying gibberish.

Very useful for specific sound-management problems.
My home office is directly below the main bedroom, which is frequently a problem since my job requires me to be awake and take calls hours before my spouse needs to be up. After an inspection, we pinpointed one of the areas of bleed-through as the window wells in my office, which are level with the floor of the bedroom -- meaning only one layer of plasterboard between them.I got these tiles to see if I could do something about that -- mostly because they were cheap and it was worth a try. Somewhat to my surprise, it worked! Lining each window well with these tiles lowered the amount of sound bleed-through by 10-15 decibels, enough to let my spouse sleep. So these are totally a solution for that kind of narrow noise issue. Don't buy them expecting to insulate yourself from construction or bagpipes, but if you're just trying to lessen some bleed-through, they totally work. Also, I like them a lot more than the foam ones because they're rigid and fairly attractive. Because of their stiffness, I was able to attach them to the window wells using 3M damage-free hanging tabs, which means that I can take them down again without tearing off the ceiling paint.
