Not much support
I think this may be a successor to the AFT2 brace that I have used, but can't currently buy in a medium size. TheAFT2 had two stiff straps embedded and provide pretty good support to prevent ankle roll. The AFT3 has one strap and provides just marginal support OK for walking but not good enough for pickleball or similar sports.

Go-to Ankle Brace
This is my go-to ankle brace. Sturdy and pretty comfortable. The newest version has a stiffer lining on the inside of the stirrup (I assume to help it with wear/tear) but it was uncomfortable, so I cut it out. Other than needing that alteration, still happy with the Mueller braces.

Excellent ankle braces for soccer
Have two terrible ankles from 20+ years of competitive soccer, and have used numerous supports (taping, lace-up, straps, lace-up/straps). Haven't had these long, but they're the best of all worlds so far. Supportive, comfortable, non-bulky and fit better in my cleats than everything other than tape. Couldn't be happier. Was concerned after reading older reviews of the Mueller XLP and Mueller ATF2 about them being too bulky for cleats, difficult to remove, too tight, time consuming to put on - this brace has none of those issues, especially if you've ever used any ankle brace in the past. The long laces make sense when you are expanding the brace to put on and remove.

**This item isn't eligible for return** Fits significantly larger - be sure to downsize
Updated **This item isn't eligible for return** Now stuck with two braces that don't fit :\Updated after purchase/fitting of downsized brace:Bought a small (downsized from medium) and does fit tighter. I anticipated it would also provide more support at the heel to ankle, but it does not, even after a thick sock and compression sleeve. Ideally I'd downsize yet again, but worry about the sacrificed comfort - gotto return both. Wish me luck; I'm moving on.Original review:My foot dimensions clearly suggests a medium, but this brace is significantly loose. I don't feel too much support and stabilization from the instep up the heel. I wouldn't wear this barefoot, though I don't believe wearing thick socks would make a difference.I'm going to order another brace a size lower. My foot is on the upper range of medium from the size chart - if I was on the lower end I would probably go down to an extra small FYIFoot length: 11"Ankle circumference: 9.5"Heel circumference: 13.5"Instep circumference: 9.5"Foot circumference: 10.5"Cleat: Adidas Copa Mundial

Worth the money
Had to order another after two years as I wore my other one out. Worn practically every day while playing pickleball all and this brace helps support my ankle. Great product!

Very Disappointed
I have extremely flat feet and injured my right foot and knee playing tennis about 20 years ago. After physical therapy I found that my right knee still hurt unless I wore an ankle support on that foot. For most of the last ten years I have used Mueller ATF 2's and found them to give me support sufficient to eliminate knee pain. They supported well, yet I could comfortably wear them literally every day. When my most recent ATF 2 finally wore out, I ordered an ATF 3 because Mueller discontinued the ATF 2. The ATF 3 only has 4 lace holes on the right and left sides of the brace compared to the ATF 2 having 7. Also, the lower edge of the new brace extends into the shoe an inch or so less than the old one. Note the attached photo, with the ATF 2 on the left and the ATF 3 on the right. Together these changes make a HUGE difference. The support provided by the ATF 3 is noticeably inferior to that of the ATF 2. My knee pain is returning. I will have to look for a substitute.

Good brace
I bought the wrong size, so I had to order another set. These ones I gave to my son and he likes them. I also like the pair I got later. They do the job nicely of giving moderate support to help keep my ankle from rolling after spraining it earlier this year. Easy to put on and take off. Comfortable in shoes. Very pleased.
